Meet the Legacy Smiles Dentists: Kailyn Hagerty, D.M.D. and Karen E. Izzo, D.D.S.

Kailyn Hagerty, D.M.D.

Dr. Hagerty holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Dayton, a Master’s degree in Neuroscience and Physiology from Wright State University, and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Midwestern University in Downers Grove. As part of her education, Dr. Hagerty performed clinical externships at Ruth Rothstein CORE Center, Loyola, John Stroger Hospital, and DuPage County Health Department. She currently holds memberships in the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Hagerty grew up around the dental profession and knew at a very young age that this was her calling. Dr. Hagerty values establishing long lasting relationships with her patients and helping people overcome their dental anxiety. It is her greatest hope that every patient she interacts with feels heard and understood. She is proficient in all aspects of dentistry including oral surgery, orthodontics, endodontics, and facial esthetics. She is originally from the Dayton, Ohio area and currently lives in Logan Square. When not in the office, Dr. Hagerty enjoys traveling, reading, interior design projects, and trying to convince her fiancé that they need a golden retriever puppy!
Karen E. Izzo, D.D.S.

Dr. Karen grew up on the northwest side of Chicago and graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1991. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry and is a member of the Arcolian Dental Arts Society. Dr. Karen enjoys treating patients of all ages and has loved sharing in the lives of her patients and their families. She is committed to delivering excellent care to all of her patients by staying up to date with newest dental technologies and research. Dr. Karen enjoys all phases of dentistry and believes that oral health is an intricate aspect of overall health. Through a combination of state-of-the-art care and a compassionate heart, she works to serve her patients and meet their individual needs. She believes that well educated patients make the best decisions and, therefore, commits herself to spending time with each patient to ensure all treatment options are fully understood. Dr. Karen and her husband, Bob, have two children, Colleen and Kevin. Her interests are walking, theatre and spending time with friends and family.
